What to know for your tattoo booking

Preparing for your consultation

  • Punctuality is Key: Let’s get started on time! Arriving punctually means we can dive right into creating your masterpiece without delay.
  • Preparation is Everything: To ensure your tattoo reflects your vision, please have your reference images ready. You can send them ahead to us at info@truebluetattoos.co.za. Not sure which pictures to send? A good rule of thumb is to share three images you love and three you’re not fond of. This helps us capture exactly what you’re looking for—and what you want to avoid.
  • Embrace the Experience: At True Blue, we embrace the raw, authentic experience of tattooing. This means we don't use numbing agents or topical anaesthetics. Why? Because they can affect how the ink settles into your skin, potentially diminishing the quality of your tattoo once it's healed. Trust us, it’s worth it—tattoos are not just art, but also an experience to be felt!
  • Set Your Own Expectations: Everyone has a different threshold for discomfort, and part of the adventure is discovering your own. Don’t let others’ tales of pain shape your expectations. It’s your journey, experience it personally!
  • Life Happens, Just Keep Us Posted: We understand that sometimes schedules get disrupted. If you need to reschedule, just let us know as soon as possible. We’re here to accommodate you!
  • Come Questions-Ready: Have a consultation coming up? Compile a list of questions you’d like to ask. The more prepared you are, the smoother and quicker the consultation.

We look forward to seeing you at the studio and are excited to help bring your artistic vision to life!

Preparing for your booking

  • Rest Up: A good night’s sleep is your secret weapon. It’s not just about looking refreshed—it’s about feeling strong and ready for your tattoo session.
  • Fuel Up: Don’t skip meals before you come in. Eating a hearty meal will help keep your blood sugar stable and your body ready to handle the excitement and nerves.
  • Snack Smart: If you're settling in for a longer session, bring some snacks. Something simple and sweet like Jelly Babies or Fizz Pops can give you a quick energy boost. Keep your spirits and sugar levels up!
  • Keep Entertained: Time flies when you’re having fun, right? Bring a book, load up some podcasts, or have a movie or show queued up on Netflix. Whatever helps you relax and stay entertained.
  • Skip the Spirits: It might be tempting, but avoid alcohol the night before—and definitely before your session. Staying sober helps minimize bleeding and keeps your body in the best shape to heal.

We’re excited to see you and create something amazing together! Make sure you come prepared and ready to rock your session at True Blue Tattoos.
